Hello world! In short, my name is Andrea and I’m an art director and a creative strategist, active in the field of Marketing and Branding (I think I’m getting good… but I can handle criticism, which I recognize and encourage warmly). I’m currently employed as Art Director at EVE agency, in the enticing city of Trieste (Italy), where I live and work hand in hand with a team of young people (in spirit at least) to bring International Talent Support to life.
To quote one of the world’s most famous and enduring icons, “Life is hard”. Yes, it is.
Fortunately, despite appearances, we’ve got plenty of time to live and learn…
— Guess what? I believe it’s my motto
So what’s the story?
There are innumerable textbooks on marketing, branding, visual design and so on, out there… In all likelyhood, if you’re reading my blog, you have a couple of those textbooks on your shelves already (as I obviously do have too, not counting extra tons of digital papers). However, as experience teaches, most of those textbooks are also filled to the brim with information that not a single fellow will ever put to good use (it’s there for academic purposes, so you can perfectly live without). And sometimes the key bits of knowledge and lore are buried so deeply in that information overload that they get overlooked.
They say you can always build a better mouse trap, but nature will just build a better mouse. Obviously, while a short collection of random blog posts such as this website can’t possibly cover in detail every concept that you’d die to master (count me in, please), I thought I could highlight the ones that I find most relevant on a day-to-day basis.
I really hope that my experience will help you perform better, as well as get you out of a lot of jams. Everything I say here is optional, you can take it or leave it, it’s up to you. However, if I gloss over details, say something blatantly naive or just simply confuse you, I apologize in advance. Refer to the standard tomes for more depth.
